Christina Holtzclaw (Left) and Kathy Backer (Right) attended the Rome Floyd Chambers Ambassador Program meeting. They met and learned a lot about the program as well as their responsibility.

2022 Annual Conference on Independent Living (NCIL)
Executive Director Christina Holtzclaw (left) and Assistant Director Kathy Baker (right), went to Washington D.C., and attended the 2022 NICL Conference. They worked with other centers and learned new resources, ways to strategize, and planned the future of Independent Living at the largest independent living event of the year.
August 4, 2022:
Business Before Hours at the Center
With Rome/ Floyd Chamber, we hosted Business Before Hours in honor of the recent 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). We shared how the ADA has helped those with disabilities be independent and self-empowered. Before the event ended, we gave everyone a tour of our center and showed them a dome of the assistive technology that we offer to our consumers who need them.
August 11, 2022:
Hackberry Labs at Berry College
Fun with our team! Thank you to HackBerry Labs on the Berry campus for giving our entire staff such an awesome tour and demonstration. We had such a great time! We learned about 3D printing and electric cars and saw how lasers create assistive technology.
December 7, 2022:
Business Before Hours at Riverwood
Carissa and Emily attended the B.B.H. at Riverwood, Hosted by Rome/Floyd Chamber. While there, they got to connect with other organizations that attended including Riverwood itself. Toward the end, they got a tour of the center and learned about Riverwood. We are grateful for the opportunity to attend and the knowledge that we gained from the event. Thank you Riverwood and Rome/Floyd Chamber for the opportunity you gave us.
