Those without internet access can contact the DFCS Customer Contact Center at 877-423-4746 for additional information or to request a paper application. The Georgia COVID-19 Emotional Support Line provides 24/7 free & confidential assistance to callers needing emotional support or resource information as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emotional Support Line is staffed by volunteers, including mental health professionals and others who have received training in crisis counseling.
For mental health crisis, call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) 800-715-4225.
For substances abuse support, the CARES Warm Line is available by call or text at 844-326-5400.

If you believe that you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, please contact your primary care doctor or an urgent care clinic. Please do not show up unannounced at an emergency room or healthcare facility.

COVID-19 Testing
Free COVID-19 testing is now available in Northwest Georgia. NW Georgians with symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), such as fever, dry cough or shortness of breath, may receive free testing provided by public health. The following people without symptoms may also be tested:
–Healthcare workers, first responders and other critical infrastructure workers that have been exposed to COVID-19.
–Residents of a long-term care facility or other group residential setting experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19.
Call 706-802-5329 from 830am-5pm Monday through Friday and from 830am to noon Saturday to be screened for testing.
Tallatoona CAP Energy Assistance Program
Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID 19, appointments for assistance will be completed remotely by telephone.
April 1, 2020 at 8:30am, Tallatoona will begin accepting appointments for the LIHEAP cooling program for Senior Households 65 years of age and older. Floyd County Emergency Community Shelter
Floyd County has opened a new emergency community shelter, which holds 50 cots and rooms to accomodate single women and families. For information on the shelter, please contact the Davies Shelter at 706-512-1152. Rome News-Tribune has an article on the shelter with more information at this link.
